A recovering CPA, Shannon opened Fit for Profit in 2008 after two years in public accounting. She spent years telling her clients to do the one thing every financially healthy business requires: save for taxes. Then in 2011, her husband was laid off, the business was carrying their family, and when the tax bill arrived in 2012, she couldn’t pay it.
She knew better. She still didn’t do it.
That humbling moment became the foundation of everything Fit for Profit is built on: the belief that financial confusion isn’t a character flaw. It’s what happens when no one teaches you, and when the weight of running a business leaves no room to figure it out alone.
